What I did in October 2021
Not too exciting this month. But quite a lot happened and finally got gas back so I can cook and have hot showers again.
So I saw Kate on Netflix pretty good. Not much to say about this one it’s a solid action movie with a pretty cool premise. A great Friday night flick with some cool John Wick style gun fights.
Not the best Bond film but it certainly does close Daniel Craig’s legacy on his take on the character. There was a bunch of call backs to all the films in Craig’s timeline. A ton of stuff happened but nothing too memorable in this film. The camera work and sets were amazing. Story felt really heavy and the 3 hours really feel longer due to a bunch of stuff happening. This one looks great seeing it on the big screen. I do recommend seeing it in theaters.
Housing market
So recently had to look for a new place to live. Roommate decided to move out with a recent girlfriend. So I figured why not try to buy a place? Wrong. Even with the lower prices and no one wanting to live in NYC anymore it’s still a seller’s market.
From Coop boards to bad retailors who won’t even lift a finger to help, it makes the process almost impossible. But I was going to stick it out longer but had to move up the timeline since the Roommate moved up his timeline. I found a nice bedroom room apartment and it was cheap enough that it was almost at mortgage prices anyway. Except I didn’t have to do the extra work. And time is money. I think most investors aren’t thinking about that aspect of the commitment.
Been meaning to read this one for a while. A very short read if you got time to kill. I don’t think I found another book that spoke to me like No Longer Human. I think we all have felt like the main character Yozo at one time or another. I believe not fitting into society is a universal theme and this echoes other great books like Catcher in the Rye and Lord of the flies. Anyway a must read.
But that’s about it for October, been looking at places all month so haven’t really had time to do anything fun really. Also had to take extra shifts due to the amount of excess work. Just got Utilities set up from Con Ed to the new place and cancelled on the old place. Now just have to figure out internet most likely Fios. Now hard part is moving my stuff, mostly small stuff but the bed I would have to ask for a favor. Anyway thanks for reading!
