The side hustle 2020 edition NYC my story
Like many of you I’ve upped my game in trying to make some extra cash that might be someday my main source of cash. I am fortunate enough to have found a job during this pandemic. So this advice isn’t for everyone. But please take some of what I do and apply it to your work style.
Medium.com
Your already reading this so you know about this part. But it can lead into some pick change if I keep at it. I’m usually doing some review of a movie or show since it’s pretty fun and easy to do. I’m watching theses shows anyway why not make an opinion piece about why Showgirls is a better movie than previous thought.
Cardsphere.com
This is a little Niche but Magic the gathering is quickly coming into Mainstream like DnD. I sell off my lower end and Mid tier cards on the site. The percentage is low but most of the cards I’m selling off aren’t worth too much nor I care since I’m freeing up space. And it’s nice to get cash for your junk commons and uncommons. You can try it out with my referral link here.
Ebay.com
Was selling more stuff a year ago now I’m just saving up to wait until my stuff appreciates more in value. Might change in the coming months but using ebay less and less.
Prosper.com
Waiting to cash out on this one. Put some money years ago and it’s been slowly coming back. It’s money lending so there’s more risk than regular stocks. Haven’t had too much of a loss but it’s kind of slower than traditional methods on investing.
Robinhood app
It’s the standard in investing on your phone. I’m doing dividend stocks. It’s going ok with what the world in it’s state right now. If you guys don’t have any investing portfolio you need to start one now. Referral link here. We both get a free stock. I’m reinvesting the dividends to grow but if you need the money I suggest turning off that option. This is the long term goal of making enough passively. Since you barely have to do anything once your account is funded enough that it pays you every month.
Webull app
Another investing one, this one has more features and has more of a traditional feel like what you would do before. Referral link here. They are newer than Robinhood so they offer more stock upon signing up, as of writing this they are doing three free stocks. Same strategy as above but mainly doing ETFs here while in Robinhood I’m picking companies. They also do more promotions so they throw around free stock for just depositing money so they are actively doing more to get people into their app.
Freelance Video
Taken a hit due to the virus, had a few clients and colleagues needing stuff done before. Now it’s dead quiet with a few rare texts I get inquiring about some small shoots.
That’s all for my side routine. I view my side projects like investing you want to have your hand in a bit of everything. Yes it does take time so not a single one of theses projects will make you quit your day job but it makes it easier to not worry about the low pay.
