The promised Neverland season 2 episode 6 spoilers review !!
I know there is a ton of hate for the new direction but it’s like a train wreck and you can’t seem to take your eyes off the wreckage.
But I do think they are fixing some of the plot holes in the series overall. Emma seems less like a hypocrite when she confronts Norman in this episode. Now in the manga Emma does help kill a handful of demons before this scene. So in the anime her hands are kind of clean and I feel like the creators genuinely want to keep her pure in the anime at least. So when she doesn’t like Norman’s plan it feels more sincere.
As for Ray it seems like his character got demoted to a support character. I hope he does more in the future but I think this might be more of Emma and Norman story now.
So no flashbacks or anything revealing his backstory. In the manga we got a great scene of his imprisonment and his escape.
Also still no guns. I think they are truly going to stick with the no guns thing in the anime. They kept Norman’s plan the same but with no real antagonist it seems easy.
And maybe it’s a set up for Isabella to become a Boba Fett type character to try to stop the kids.
The demons also feel like background noise now. There was so much threat in the beginning now things feel safe with no danger to the kids now that Norman is back in the picture with his murder squad.
I really think the creator’s are going to make the story in the anime more tight knitted. In the manga it felt like the characters never stopped coming in. We were introduced to so many characters they never felt as important as the first few chapters.
So I really think Isabella might just become the main antagonist again. And the demons might just be side characters this time around.
Except for those two, they were sidelined until the end but it looks like in the anime they will play a more involved role.
I mean they are even in the ending theme. I think they will contribute more to the main conflict with Norman.
But let’s see how this will play out on episode 7!!
